The Blue Mosque was built between 1606 and 1616. It is named for the blue colors in the interior.

Saint Sophia Church was built by Emperor Justinian in 548. It was considered to be the greatest church in Christendom until Saint Peter's was built in Rome much later. After the conquest of Constantinoble in 1453, it was converted into a mosque. Only recently has it been turned into a museum. Many of the Christian mosaics that were plastered over in 1453 are now being revealed.
